Our Services

At Mentor South Bay, we believe every person deserves a bright future. We know everyone is different, with their own hopes and strengths that can help them get where they want to go in life. That’s why we meet each child, adult, and family where they are and support them as they learn and grow.  We get to know each person we serve and create a plan of service tailored to their needs and life goals.

Our caring team members have dedicated their careers to providing the highest quality service and support for the people we serve. We share a mission to help people with a wide range of needs have the bright futures they deserve.

Caring Support for More Than 30 Years

Mentor South Bay opened its doors in 1986 in Brockton, Massachusetts. Located approximately 25 miles south of Boston, our team met a local need for outpatient behavioral health programs serving children and families.

In the 1990s, we expanded our services to offer outpatient substance abuse and early intervention services for young children with developmental delays. Over the years, our unique approach to care has helped eliminate many barriers that kept people from getting the support they needed.

Early Intervention Services

Our Early Intervention programs serve young children with or at risk for developmental delays as well as those with autism spectrum disorder. Our Early Intervention/Birth to Three team works in homes, schools, and other settings to help children build the skills to grow and thrive. We also work with parents to help them build the skills to meet their children’s needs. Supports are tailored to each family’s needs and may include:

  • Developmental evaluations
  • Parent and child groups
  • Home visits
  • Speech, physical, and occupational therapy
  • Parent support and education

Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counseling Services

Our team offers mental health and substance abuse counseling services to help youth, adults, and their families overcome addiction. Services include:

  • Individual, couples, family and group therapy
  • School-based services
  • Medication management
  • Trauma-focused therapy
  • Intensive family services

Children’s Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI) Services

Our team of CBHI clinicians help families with behavioral health challenges stay together and chart a positive path for their lives. We offer three CBHI programs, including:

  • In-Home Therapy: Our Master’s-level clinicians and support staff work in the home with structured therapies to treat behavioral health needs.
  • Therapeutic Mentoring: Our team provides support in the community-based setting where a young person needs it to help them build daily living, social, and communication skills.
  • In-Home Behavioral Services: Our in-home team helps youth overcome behaviors that keep them from thriving at home and in the community.

Medication Management

Mentor South Bay clinicians provide medication management for behavioral health needs. Our standalone Medication Management services allow you to receive medication for behavioral health purposes from one of our prescribers without being linked to a therapy service to do so. Services are offered both virtually and in-person and are available to all existing individuals served by Mentor South Bay, anyone on our waitlist, and anyone who is referred to us.

We are thrilled with the progress our son Kiki has made with Early Intervention. From sitting to walking, their expertise and care have helped him achieve many key milestones. If you’re seeking a compassionate and skilled program to support child development, I couldn’t recommend Early Intervention enough. teacher helping toddler do a task at school Ayah B.
